About

Genevieve Brown is a striking vocalist and dynamic improviser—an artist who effortlessly captivates audiences with her intimate, emotionally rich sound. Known for her nuanced phrasing and sincere delivery, Brown's performances have been praised for their emotional depth and engaging presence.

Raised in a musical household in Sydney, Australia, Genevieve began her journey into jazz by performing with her guitarist father and frequenting local jazz clubs with him as a teenager. Her passion for vocal artistry led her to Brisbane, where she earned a Bachelor of Music in Jazz from the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University (QCGU), studying under some of Australia's leading jazz vocalists.

Genevieve has performed in numerous jazz venues across Australia and appeared on the international stage at events such as the Siena International Jazz Festival in Italy (2023). In 2024, she released her debut EP 'Spring Is Here'—a collection of timeless standards interpreted with her trio. The EP was warmly received and featured in Fine Music FM Magazine.

Throughout her career, Genevieve has had the opportunity to learn from and collaborate with world-renowned jazz artists including Will Vinson, Walter Smith III, David Binney, Kristin Berardi, Jo Lawry, Jazzmeia Horn, Phil Stack, and many others.

Fine Music reviewer Barry O’Sullivan writes, …

“Genevieve is a vocalist for all seasons, not just one.”
